Overview
Rajasthan Safai Karmachari recruitment 2026 has opened a large state hiring cycle for 24,752 contractual sanitation-worker posts across 183 urban local bodies. The Local Self Government Department issued Advertisement No. 01/2026 on July 27, with online applications scheduled from August 15 to September 28, 2026.
This is not an examination-based recruitment. The controlling facts are one year of eligible sanitation work experience, the choice of a single urban local body and selection through a computerised lottery. NDTV's July 27 recruitment report confirms the application window, age band, experience condition and monthly honorarium.
Rajasthan Safai Karmachari recruitment 2026 covers 183 bodies
The 24,752 sanitation worker posts are spread across municipal corporations, councils and boards in Rajasthan. Current notification reporting divides them into 24,277 posts in non-scheduled areas and 475 in scheduled areas. Jaipur has the largest single allocation reported, but every candidate needs the body-wise and category-wise table for the urban local body they intend to choose.
The recruitment is contractual under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules, 2022, as amended. That status matters: candidates should not read the notice as a regular permanent appointment or assume that conditions from an older sanitation-worker drive apply automatically.
Safai Karmachari application dates start August 15
Online applications are due to open on August 15 and close at 11:59 pm on September 28, 2026. The form is expected through Rajasthan's SSO and recruitment systems, not through an unofficial jobs page. The Rajasthan recruitment portal is the state entry point candidates can monitor as the opening date approaches.
There is no benefit in trying to submit before the window opens. Use the first half of August to obtain the correct work-experience certificate, check SSO access and identify the one urban local body for which the application will be filed.
One year of sanitation work experience is essential
No minimum school or college qualification has been prescribed in the current reporting. Rajasthan sanitation work experience is the central eligibility condition instead: an applicant needs at least one year of relevant work through a Rajasthan urban local body, contractor or authorised institution.
The experience certificate carries a date condition. Current notice reporting says it must be issued on or after August 1, 2026 and before the application deadline. A certificate from an unrelated employer, an undated letter or a document issued outside the stated period may not establish eligibility. Candidates should use the format and issuing authority named in the official advertisement.
Applicants must be 21 to 40 years old
The base age band is 21 to 40 years as on January 1, 2027. Reserved-category relaxation applies under Rajasthan rules, but the exact relaxation and certificate conditions should be read from Advertisement No. 01/2026 before the form is finalised.
Age is only one part of the screening. Identity details, category, domicile-related claims and the experience certificate need to agree across the SSO profile and uploaded records. A mismatch can create trouble even when the candidate falls comfortably inside the age range.
Selection uses a computerised lottery
The department has not announced a written examination or interview. Selection will use department software to conduct a category-wise lottery against the advertised posts for each urban local body.
Priority is tied to where the candidate gained sanitation experience. Current reporting places applicants with experience in the chosen urban local body first, followed by eligible experience elsewhere in the same district and then experience in another Rajasthan urban local body if posts remain. That order makes the choice of body more than a location preference.
Only one urban local body can be chosen
Each applicant may apply for only one urban local body. Multiple applications are reported to result in cancellation, so candidates should not submit separate forms for Jaipur, Ajmer and another municipality in the hope of increasing their chances.
Before choosing, compare the body-wise vacancies, reservation breakup and the place where the experience was earned. Candidates following other state recruitments can use Pagalishor's UPSSSC Sugarcane Supervisor date guide for general document-planning discipline, while keeping Rajasthan's one-body and experience rules separate.
Monthly honorarium is reported at Rs 7,410
Selected workers will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 7,410 under the cited labour-department rate. This is a contractual payment figure, not a regular state pay-matrix salary. Applicants should read the official terms for the length of engagement, attendance, duties, deductions and any renewal conditions before accepting an appointment.
The one-time registration charge is reported as Rs 600 for general candidates and Rs 400 for reserved-category candidates and persons with disabilities. A candidate who has already paid Rajasthan's OTR fee in an earlier recruitment may not need to pay it again; the live portal should show the account status.
Documents should be prepared before the form opens
The most important record is the sanitation-work experience certificate issued in the prescribed period. Applicants should also keep Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar details, relevant caste or non-creamy-layer records, disability proof where applicable, a current photograph and a clear signature image ready.
Check names, dates of birth and category entries against the SSO profile before uploading anything. The detailed advertisement reportedly also requires a marriage-registration certificate at the appointment stage. Do not substitute a self-written declaration when the notice asks for a certificate from a competent authority.
How to apply from August 15
- Step 1: Open the official Rajasthan SSO or state recruitment portal after the application link goes live.
- Step 2: Sign in with the candidate's own SSO ID and complete One Time Registration if it is still pending.
- Step 3: Choose Safai Karmachari Recruitment 2026 and select only one urban local body.
- Step 4: Enter the experience, category and identity details exactly as supported by the documents.
- Step 5: Upload the prescribed certificate, photograph, signature and other applicable records.
- Step 6: Review the selected body and every declaration before final submission, then save the submitted form and payment receipt.
